Poland Trip - A Personal View

Poland, for me, was an amazing once in a life time experience. I was able to visit the camps that I had learnt about in History, however the 2D pictures we were shown did not prepare me for the emotionally moving experience it was. Seeing the cases of hair and glasses and false limbs at Auschwitz really hit me hard, in that these innocent people had their lives horrifically stolen from them.

Although the things you see at Auschwitz are shocking and disgusting it somehow still didn’t seem real. It has been made into a museum so you can’t actually imagine the conditions the Jews lived in. Birkenau which was purely a “DEATH CAMP” hit me quite hard. It was deeply depressing for me as I stood alone in silence and thought of the many lives that had been taken unnecessarily.

That said, the trip was also a great time for myself and my friends to spend time with each other away from home and take in the beautiful scenery of Krakow. I had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed myself on the Poland Trip and I’m sure I will never forget it. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff that came on the trip with us and also for making the trip possible.

Poland - February 2006

On the OTD I was in Poland on the school trip for Year 10 and above. We had loads of fun whilst we where there.

But when we where at Auschwitz and Birkanau the death camps it was quite depressing.

The first hotel we stayed at was not up to the health and safety standards of Britain so we had to move to a way better hotel on the second day. I met some really cool people on holiday.

Overall it was a really good experience.

No OTD 4 me - I was in Poland!

I missed off timetable day i was in Poland! having fun so meh:p

What's that? you want to know about it, okays! The journey down was actually quicked than i expected.

It was also fun. when we got there we thought WOW, snow!!!!!!!! the snow was seriously thick. the first hotel we got to was 'Krakus', or as we call it 'crackhouse' lmao

We moved into a new hotel after the first night, because Krakus wasnt good enough for us posh people :P meh again.

The second hotel was awesome, so clean and there were doormen! The town was really nice, and the camps we visited were interesting. Ice skating ruled, i didnt fall once, even though everyone else did:P , just coz i'm so good.

Anyway, bye x
